You may begin flight training at any age, but 17 years old is the minimum age requirement to hold your private pilot’s license Complete 30 hours minimum of dual instruction and 10 hours minimum of solo flight Obtain a 3rd Class Medical or BasicMed Complete Ground School Program (in person or online curriculum) Pass FAA Computerized Written Exam with a minimum score of 70% Pass FAA Oral Exam and Checkride
Privileges
Act as pilot in command with passengers (not for hire) Fly under Visual Flight Rules Fly single engine aircraft
